This dress and these shoes are heading to NYC with me tonight! I'm going to - as one friend puts it - celebrate the sh*t out of my 31st birthday.

Fashion note: wrap dresses with lots of fabric and flow make it very easy to comfortably consume massive amounts of birthday cake.

I paid a long overdue visit to the Brewer Marden's over the weekend and as usual, it did not disappoint. I found Sam Edelman for $30, Donald Pliner for $40 and Caparros for $12.

Ripped jeans

I'm going out of town this weekend and this morning packed a pair of ripped jeans that I haven't worn in forever. I also wondered if it might be time to retire them, but then I got to the office and found an email from Glitter Guide that was all about the wonders of ripped jeans. Guess I can say I was a half hour ahead of the resurrection of a trend ;)

Rings

I have some admitted PTSD about wearing rings. I absolutely loved my engagement and wedding rings and after my divorce it was really sad to stop wearing them. So for just over 2 years, I didn't want to wear any. I mentioned this to my friend Tony and he brought me back this glass ring from France, which was just about the nicest thing in the world. And my sister J and I bought rings at Nordstrom at Christmas time. So I'm slowly easing back into them.
